For a year, no one has been able to catch the Midnight Lady, the masked outlaw who robs the mayor's trains and returns every dollar to the farmers he taxes into ruin. No one suspects she is Briar, the mayor's own daughter. Then her father arranges her marriage to Quinn, the town's new sheriff, the one woman who has come close to unmasking her. Briar makes a bet: Quinn can have her hand only after she catches the Midnight Lady. She is sure that will never happen. But Quinn is falling for both of them, the sharp-tongued bride and the outlaw who kisses her on moving trains. The closer she gets to the truth, the harder it is for Briar to keep lying. When her best friend betrays her and her father wants her hanged without a trial, Quinn has to choose between her badge and the woman she loves.
